Jagan cancels Chandrababu Naidu government orders, allow CBI to work in AP

The  Y . S  jagan Mohan Reddy government on Thursday cancelled the controversial Go issued by the previous government that withdrew general consent given to the CBI to operate in the state.

A fresh Go to this effect was issued on Thursday.

The Chandrababu government had withdrawn General consent given to the CBI to carry out investigations and raids in the state alleging that the Centre was using it to target 🎯 TD leaders.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Delhi special police 🚨 Establishment Act, 1946  Central Act No.25 of 1946 the government hereby cancels the orders issued in Go MS No. 176, HOME (SC.A) Department dated 08.11.2018 with immediate effect said the Go No. 81 issued by special chief secretary Dr Manmohan Singh on Thursday.

The CBI will now have all powers to take up corruption and other cases in AP.

Under section 6 of the Act, a state government routinely grants consent to the CBI for exercising its authority in the state AP government, too had issued relevant orders periodically. Such a notification giving general consent was last issued by the Andhra pradesh government on September 3 last year. It withdrew consent in November 2018.
